Implementation Process

Implementation Process

B2V designed this programme around ten crop-specific training cohorts, each bringing together 25 progressive farmers identified within the target district for a three-day residential training. The nine crop and produce categories covered were Jackfruit, Ginger, Turmeric, Coffee, Lemongrass, Palmarosa, Sal leaf, Millet, and Desi seeds, a deliberate mix of high-value spices, aromatic plants, forest produce, and indigenous grains that reflects the actual diversity of what tribal farming households in these districts grow and collect. Rather than delivering a generic value addition curriculum, each training was calibrated to the specific post-harvest, processing, and marketing challenges of its crop category.

Exposure visits were embedded in each training cohort, grounding classroom content in observable practice. Post-training follow-up was built into the programme design as an explicit activity, with B2V staff supporting participating farmers in establishing actual market linkages for their produce rather than leaving market access as something farmers would have to navigate alone after the training.
