B2V identified and selected 75 young tribal candidates across four districts of Odisha, prioritising enterprising individuals with the potential to become community-level agricultural service providers. The core of the programme was a five-day residential training format, designed to deliver a deliberately broad curriculum in concentrated form: organic and integrated farming methods, basic bookkeeping and accounting, customer relationship skills, communication, and practical ICT literacy including smartphone and internet use. The residential structure was a conscious design choice, creating an immersive learning environment removed from daily pressures and enabling peer cohort building across districts that would have otherwise been impossible through dispersed training.
Each training cohort was taken on an exposure visit to a functioning organic farm, grounding the theoretical and classroom content in observable reality. For tribal youth with limited exposure to commercially oriented agriculture, seeing a successful organic enterprise operating at scale is a more powerful motivator than any training material.
The programme trained 75 tribal youth across four of Odisha's more remote districts within a single operating cycle, covering a geography that spans both coastal-adjacent and interior tribal belt areas. The curriculum design is notable for treating agripreneurship as a full skill set rather than purely a farming intervention: by including business fundamentals and digital literacy alongside organic farming knowledge, the programme prepared participants to operate as independent service providers rather than simply better farmers.
This programme also represents the second government mandate B2V delivered for CCS-NIAM, following the ISAM awareness programme in 2019. The repeat engagement within a year signals institutional confidence and positions B2V as a trusted delivery partner for the Ministry of Agriculture's tribal outreach agenda in Odisha.
