Implementation Process

B2V is establishing five Maatee centres in Budhmu block as the physical anchors of this programme. Each centre is paired with a demonstration farm where natural farming practices are showcased at a working scale, giving surrounding farming communities direct, observable evidence of what chemical-free cultivation looks like in their own agro-climatic conditions. Technical support is delivered directly to farmers in the field rather than through classroom-only training, reducing the gap between learning and application.

A defining feature of this programme is the creation of five micro agripreneurs, community members trained and supported to become local champions and service providers for natural and climate-smart farming. Rather than relying on external extension workers, this model builds a permanent local resource base that can sustain and expand adoption beyond the programme period.

Project Outcomes

Project Outcomes

This programme runs through March 2027 and is currently in active implementation. The five-centre, five-agripreneur structure creates a distributed delivery model capable of reaching 200 beneficiary households across the block without centralised dependency. The demonstration farm component is particularly significant in a context where farmer scepticism about natural farming yields remains a key adoption barrier; visible, locally grounded evidence is more persuasive than any training material.

The NABARD partnership for this programme runs in parallel with B2V's NABARD-funded Watershed Development programme in Angul, Odisha, signalling that NABARD has confidence in B2V as a multi-geography, multi-programme implementation partner. Taken together, these two programmes represent B2V's most significant active government-funded portfolio.
